In our hot pursuit of providing a product which is totally natural, healthy and risk free, Diabetes was one of our prime concerns when we considered how to healthily sweeten the product to enhance its flavor popularity. We carried out an extensive two year program during which time we researched the effectiveness of all of the ingredients. Whilst Agave Nectar came up as being the most expensive natural sweetener (over 6 times the cost of cane sugar), its health credentials clearly outweighed any cost consideration.

Agave nectar comes from a cactus plant. It is the same type of cactus that Tequila is made from. The most significant thing about Agave nectar is that is a complex carbohydrate that is absorbed slowly and is rich in minerals. Unlike many of its alternatives, Agave nectar does not peak and drop as rapidly and it doesn’t have the brain harming toxins of a lot of the artificial sweeteners on the market.
